Bheeshma parvamu...Dhrutharashtras sadness

Vaisampaayana muni was telling the story of mahaabhaaratha to the king,Janamejaya.O king!like this both the sides of Pandavas and Kouravas stationed themselves at Kurukshethra. Both were sure of their victory.they were enthusiastic.but Hasthinaapura,Dhrutharashtra was saddened with these inevitable developments.he was worrying about his sons behaviour.he was discussing about the fatal outcome of this war.at that time,veda Vyas came there. He could understand the turmoil ,his son was undergoing at that time.Dhrutharashtra got up and saluted him with respect.he asked if Dhrutharashtra wanted to see the developments and happenings at Kurukshethra war field,he would enable him with special sight.

To that Dhrutharashtra told that it would be enough if he could know and hear what was happening there.then Vysa turned towards Sanjaya and told him to go to war field and camps of both the sides and inform dhrutharashtra of the hap

Penings there.he would be given special ability regarding what was in their minds also.he would not be affected adverse.y by the arms and arrows which would be flying to kill everyone on the war field.he can even hear what the dieties and celestial people would comment about this war.he was relegating these powers because of his power and strength.

Then Vyas turned towards his son,Dhrutharashtra and consoled him.time has for all the wicked kings dmise.dont be dejected.we dont want this kingdom. Why are you craving for it?Dhrutharashtra replied like this.you told what is good for us,what is right.I also tried my level best to inculcate justice to my sons,but to no avail.it is enough if you can percieve that I am not in the wrong.now we have to theoint of no return.nothing is in my hands at this juncture.

Sanjaya went to the warfield and came after few days.Dhrutharashtra was anxious of the developments.Sanjaya told him that Bheeshma fell fighting a brave war and broke down helplessly.then dhrutharahtra requested him to tell about the happenings of those ten days of war.

Sanjaya answered him like this. I salute with reverence to Vyasa who gave me this special insight and sight,even though I did no good to anyone.at that time Dussaasana was fighting with pandavas.Duryodhana told them that they had to protect Bheeshma from Sikhandi.then only they can win this war.Bheeshma himself told them earlier that except Sikhandi,no one can fight with him face to face and win.next day,armies started for the warfield.
