Arjunas victory over kouravas

To observe this war between Arjuna on hand and kouravas on the other hand, Indra, other dieties, sages,rishis came and stood in the sky with interest and eagerness.pandu raju also came and sat besides Indra to view this war.kouravas army was afraid when Arjuna blew his conch.
Arjuna directed Uththara kumaara to move the chariot near to the army of Kouravas and their warriors.he released arrows in  reverence in the direction of elders like Drona, Krupa and Bheeshma. They were happy for his spect  towards elders.
Arjuna went in the direction ofDuryodhana.he released the cattle herds and  stood im between the army and cattle and directed them to back from where they came.Bheeshma stood in between Arjuna and Duryodhana. Arjuna used his bows and aroows with such fastness that it appeas as though he had  another set of shoulders and arms to attack the enemies.he attacked with fervour all the Kuru warriors like Krupa, Dushpraha,Dussaasana,Sakuni,Bheeshma and Karna.Karna and Arjuna had fierce fighting and Karna had bruises all over his body caused by the powerful arrows of Arjuna and he left the battlefield.

Drona came to attack Arjuna. Then Arjuna told him to direct arrows at him first so that he could answer them. He could not attack elders in the first instance and Drona oblized his wish.they were teacher and student. They were equals and everyone was praising their efficiency in the battle field.but in the end Arjuna won over Drona.then Aswaththaama entered into the scene. He broke Gaandeevam of Arjuna but Arjuna retied it and started the war afresh.Arjunas arrows were unending and Aswaththaama hadto retire from his attack.Arujuna broke the bow and sword of Krupa and he had to flee from there.war between Bheeshma and Arjuna was as if to oxen were attacking each other.Arjunas arrowscovered Bheeshma and his chariot fully and Bheeshma fainted being exhausted with the severe war that took place.Duryodhana also could not give a real fight to Arjuna and he too back stepped from battlefield.

Dialogue between Duryodhana and others

Drona directed everyone to be alert and be ready for war with Arjuna.he told them to send the king with the cattle and remaining warriors should cover his moves efficiently.Duryodhana told them to fight with whom so ever was the enemy. If he was Arjuna and he came before the due date of completion of their obscurity, they would again go to the woods as per the arrangement.

 Aswaththaama said it was right to praise the great people whether they were friends or foes.when that person was the teacher ,then it was absolutely right.so,he would not fight with Arjuna but only with Viraata.then Karna intervened and said he alone was enough to gain victory over Arjuna.Krupaachaarya chided Karna  not to lose temper and bring problems for the king. To protect the king was their sole aim at that point.Bheeshma convinced every one not to fight among themselves as who is  great and who is not.Duryodhana requested Dronaachaarya and Aswadhaama not to get angry and participate in the ensuing war.Bheeshma convinced them that agnaathavaasa was completed succesfully by pandavas .

Bheeshma said that Pandavas were righteous people,so kouravas victory was not confirmed. It would be better if they went for truce than to go for war.duryodhana did not pay heed to Bheeshmas words and was intent on waging war against Pandavas.then Drona stated his plan of actin . One fourth of army would go in front of the king and another one fourth would go behind the king  and cattle.half of the army along with warriors would follow them at a slower pace.

Arjunaencourages Uththara kumaara

Arjuna stopped the chariot near the tree where they kept their arms.he directed Uththara kumaara to climb the tree and bring their weapons. They appeared like a dead body and Uththara kumaara was afraid to climb the tree and bring it down. hen Arjuna told him that they were the  bows and arrows and other weapons of pandavas. StillUththara kumaara could not recognise and identify Arjuna.

Then Arjuna revealed everything to him in a convincing manner.still Uththarakumaara had doubt and asked him to repeat the ten names of Arjuna and Arjuna oblized.then Uththara kumaara fell on his heels and requested him not to be offended by his talk in ignorance of their real identity.
Then Arjuna came back to his normal self and wore his kundalas and helmet and other armature required for a warrior in war.he removed the flag of Virata and arranged their flag with hanumantha.he turned around that tree in reverence and blew his conch,Devadaththam and had Gaandeevam ,his bow in one hand.the spund emanating from theconch ricocheted from all the directionsand his enemies were afraid on hearing this sound.

Drona in doubt

Drona observed Arjuna entering the warfield along with Uththara kumara.hewas in doubt as to the fact whether agnaathavaasa of Pandavas was completed or not in earnest.he turned towards Bheeshma and told so. arjuna must be a fool to come out into the open when their period of obscurity was not completed.Arjuna was nearing them on the pretext of reaching a tree. The way he was advancing reminded them of Indras valour.Bheeshma understood Dronas dilemma. He understood and realised that Pandavas agnaaathavaasam was over succesfully. That was why them come out into the open without any adeu.Drona was happy to note this point because he favored Pandavas though physically he was on the side of Kouravas.
Drona felt that there was no one in their army who could give a real fight to Arjuna and win.because they heard that Arjuna recieved acclaim for his valour from Siva himself.Karna did not like the way the elders were praising Pandavas and Arjuna in particular. He admonished them from talking .ike that.he boasted that he was enough to bend Arjuna to his tune in war and valour.

Duryodhana then intervened in their dialogue. He said if he were Arjuna, it meant that Pandavas did not complete their term of ambiguity succesfully. So again they had to undergo another twelve years of aranyavaasa and another year ofagnaathavaasa.if he was not Arjuna,they would kill the enemy in no time.though they did not like the ramblings of Karna and Arjuna,Drona and Bheeshma maintained their silence and laughed at their ignorance within.

Utthara gograhanam

Duryodhanas army captured the cattle herds of northern side.meagre army staying there could not control them. They ran back and informed Utthara kumara,son of Virata.at the time ,he was in the company of  women enjoying himself. He wanted boast his valour before them. He replied that he could procure an efficient person to manage his chariot,he would go and win Kouravas army.
Malini overheard these dialogues. She  went and informed Uththara,Viratas daughter,that Bruhannala was an able man who can drive and handle the chariot of even Arjuna .
When Uththara told her brother of this, he laughed that how can even one accept an eunuch to steer him in the war.but he was made to accept this arrangement because he had no other option.

But by seeing the huge and vast army of Kouravas he lost his composure. He wanted to flee from the battlefield and save his life.but Arjuna did not heed his wailings and took him to the battlefield. uththara kumara was afraid to fight with Kouravas .then Arjuna told him to manage the chariot and he would fight them and win.then Arjuna took him to the tree where they secretly kept their weapons,bows and arrows.

Dakshina gograhanam

Duryodhana directed Dussaasana to divide their army into two parts. One part would go along with Susarma,king of Thrigartha desam,an enemy of Simhabala and the next day they would attack from the oppsite side and capture their cattle wealth.

But they conveniently forgot the fact that the year of anonimity for Pandavas was about to end.
Susarma attacked the army of Virata and defeated them.Virata was informed of the latest developments. Dharmaraju told that he ,along with his brothers in disguise also be given chariots sothat they too could come and fight the enemy.Virata was happy that there were people to help him and accepted their request.Susarma captured Virata in the ensuing war.Dharmaraju observed and directed his brothers to protect and release Virata from the captivity of Susarma and they oblized.Dharmaraju,BHeema,Nakula and Sahadeva,all four of them fought and released VIrata and captured Susarma in return.

Virata was happy with these happenings. He wanted to helpthem and show his gratitudefor their immense help.Dharmaraju requested that Susarma be released  and it was accepted by Virata happily.

Duryodhanas vicious thoughts

Dusryodhana wanted that Pandavas agnaathavaasam be coiled so that they again go to the forests for another twelve years and another year of anonimity.he sent his people under cover to learn about Pandavas whereabouts.all of them returned without any useful information. But they told that brotherin law of Mathsyadesa king was killed grotesquely by gandharva husbands of a woman.

Duryodhana suspected that it must be Bheema and that lady for whom keechaka lost his life must be Droupadi.once Bheeshma told the traits or signs that flourish  in the kingdom where Dharmaraju resides.all those positive signals  were visible in Mathsya kingdom.so definitely Pandavas shouldbe there.
Duryodhana decided that they should wage a war against mathsya kingdom and loot the cattle of that country. If at all Pandavas were,they would come out to protect that country where in they were staying. Otherwise ,they would loot all the wealth of Virata king who was their enemy.
